Gareth Pugh: Dior Homme

Gareth Pugh -Designer Dior Homme

....Gareth Pugh takes over at Dior Homme for '09 and beyond!!! His dark-edgy prospective is exactly what caught the attention of DH. It is almost as if Heidi Slimane, who left the DH to Kris Van Assche 2 years ago, would have wanted the book to continue. As obvious as it might seem to pin-point his style, Gareth is a great designer and even greater within his realm of work. His prospective is very edgy and dark, and he seems to always depict this amazing super villain costume that kills the show. KVA you're leaving this empire in great hands...Great work Gareth!

Designer: Alber Elbaz

Alber Elbaz - Designer Lanvin
"[What we] are trying to do here is bring the minimalism of today and the maximalism of yesterday, and create tension"

The epitome of Ageless-Classic-Chic. Alber uses the finest in material and color to construct his garments that just seem to always lay perfect on a lady's body. His work is timeless and adds life to a season without creating a time constrained trend. It has been said that his classic approach was of some guidance from G.Beene, where he first started. Personally I think Alber Elbaz is amongst the best at RTW/W. Props to a resident of Chicville.

Stylist & Editor: Giovanna Battaglia

Giovanna Battaglia - Stylist & Fashion editor for L'UOMO Vogue

Giovanna was an in-house model for Dolce & Gabbana for almost eight years, and has evolved into a fashion editor/stylist/icon ever since. She stands as a great example to aspiring stylist and fashion editors to continue to pursue your dream with passion. Now to her style... I must commend her for her ability to wear men clothing so well. A tailored pant and a "boyfriend's jacket" here-and-there is becoming a more and more common necessity for a woman's closet, but Giovanna seems to always show gals how to take it to the next level. A resident of chicville (ofcourse), Giovanna seems to never dissapoint. I'm sure this will not be the last time you will see a look of hers on TheStylest. Continue to serve Vogue well, inspire, and beyond.

Jacket: Balmain Jackets

Balmain jackets have an 80's appeal to them (some agree/disagree), having exaggerated shoulder pads and giving off the look of a men's blazer. Over the last two seasons, these Balmains have become the jacket to have. Good or bad?? Sometimes it's sad to see such great jackets become so popular within so many industries, because it takes away from the exclusivity of the jacket and becomes more appreciated by its price-point. In contrast, these jackets are quite the collectors items, conversation pieces, and add great definition to looks. I love the emperiol-devil sense i get from these jackets. My favorite of these three is the first one!!

Fashion Show: Lanvin Fall RTW 2009

Lanvin Fall 2009 - Alber Elbaz
"Emotional Clothing"

Alber Elbaz creates this young sex villain within his collections. This line, particularly, represents the rebel in a woman with a motive, and she just happens to be sexy. Elbaz seems to be one of the innovators in the world that you can truly understand, and he has a great way of guiding you through his prospective, through his garments. One of the best...truly.

This sheer and top, by Horace, is nuts for whomever is willing. I love this top for its detail and its flow. My only hesitation is the see-through holes, but i can work around it. Hmm...

Tara Pucci's Son

Mother. "His father is a designer, so he usually dresses pretty nicely."

This would scare me to death, and I've already had dreams about this. To have a child that would possibly be careless of the level at which he/she presents him/herself through fashion is frightening. Not only because her parents are the opposite, but when you take pride in how you express yourself to yourself and to the world, it says certain things about your character. Agree?

Sidebar: I doubt if this kid has anything to worry about.

Christian Louboutin's First Sneaker

Christian Louboutin's first sneakers ever. These are a part of their A/W 2009 line and will bring some funk to the casual lifestyle for the season. I wouldn't be surprised to see both men and women in these.

Kolor Tweed Jacket

This tweed jacket is a very nice comfortable fall addition to a gentleman's closet. Could be worn with anything from rider boots to lace ups, with anything from jodhpurs to a simple pair of dark denim. I love this jacket...shawl collar, belt detail, tweed. This jacket is one that should definitely get familiar with your closet, if it hasn't already.

Look: Bold by Bold

This lady, who was captured by The Sartorialist, really makes this look work. This jacket and shoe combination is killer...two bold elements that relate help elevate a get-up even more, and that's what she accomplished here. A huge fur on such a slender gal always seems to make for a sexy gal to me. Mission accomplished.

Look: Classics

Found this classic look on The Sartorialist and had to assess. This look is great because it doesnt scream "labels" or "too much", but rather "just right". I love the detail work here, from the pocket sq. to the bracelet, he adds the extras to build on this simple look. What I appreciate is a great fit, fit as in how it fits him lol. Suit jacket fits just right (his walk is creating that extended shoulder look-flaw), the "Roy Rogers" jeans are a nice cut, and the shirt gathers around the waist the right amount. Give this guy kudos for making this All-American boy look work.

Sidebar: I would have suggested a different pair of shoes.

Fashion Show: Neil-Barrett S/S 2009

Neil Barrett 2009 was quite zesty...The double breasted suit, besides the fact that it's a "trend" right now, flatters. The shoes they teamed up with this line are an instant winner. It reminds you of a low-top bozo shoe, but ofcoarse when done the way this line styled it you are an instant winner!! tehehe...
They people over at nymag.com:
"modern, minimalist cool with a functional twist"
Pretty dead on. I give Neil a classic cool for this line.

Designer: Tisa Phenom...

Designer: Taz is so Arnold/Tisa Phenomenon/Taz Arnold

Taz is so Arnold...snicker snicker...No foreal, Taz is the lead member of Sa-Ra Creative Partners. Taz is a musician who helped produce for Dr.Dre, Erika Badu, and many more. Taz is a designer for MCM leather goods. Taz is a part of the foundation of the creativeness behind Pastelle (Kanye West's clothing line due '09). He's also known for his massive vintage Ralph Lauren collection. And most of all he is the brain behind is own movement -Tisa Vision-. Though he has been "underground" in terms of the mass public knowing about his work as a designer and musician, he is known world wide for his sense of style. When it comes to how he puts himself together he's philosophy based. He explained in an interview how the way he dresses has more to it than many people seem to think (many people think he's on mars, possibly literally), continuing on to explain how he often breaks his body in half with different patterns or fabrics and there being a meaning behind it. Through all the criticism that he endures, due to his -Jean Paul Paula minus the heels- fearlessness when expressing himself, he's an icon. He inspires to be oneself. His prospective seems to be - to do something because it means something to you, and that always resonates through style connoisseurs. Keep an eye on Tisa...he's a monster!!

The BKc Spring 2009

Designer: The Bearded Man

"The Brooklyn Circus Spring 2009 brings forth nautical/naval inspiration through the use of chambray fabrics, anchored buttons, and subtle details that can only be appreciated in person. Embraced by hues of blue and white, the handmade collection boasts the brands own line of Japanese cone denim, brass hardware, Kidskin Leather details, and Melton Wool product, all tailored in the U.S.A, where craftsmanship meets modern sensibility."

The BKC brand has evolved into a line that simply inspires to be classic. The foundation of inspiration reminds one of a 30's-40's, style conscious gentleman. In addition to the many hints of a naval base fashion academy and a great sense of detail, the BKc continues to provide well constructed garments. The brand is truly a movement, as they continue to keep their followers involved by using in-store cameras to take shots of their customers' entire shopping experience, and posting them on the BKc blog. Continue to follow this brand/movement...rarely do you find a company that inspires cultures to look at fashion a different way.

Balmain: Tassel ankle sandals

These make Spring '09 a season worth wild. Both classic and fun, these Balmain sandals make so much sense. The suede tassel detail on these Balmain [gladiator] sandals bring a great fun-luxury appeal, and the rear zipper and metal mid-heal add great accent. When worn right, these will murder shopping districts and break many necks, so wear with pre-caution. Booooy Stooooop!!

Andre Leon Talley

Andre Leon Talley, who is commonly known as Anna Wintour's partner in crime, is the Editor-at-Large for American Vogue. He's been a huge influence on the likes of many young designers and celebrities, and also known for introducing Michelle Obama to the designer who constructed her inaugural ceremony gown. This Savannah College of A&D graduate is respected for his vision, his contribution to upholding the prestige of Vogue, and his way of embracing those who are around him. Andre represents the total fashion icon because he not only has the upmost lux-vision, but he puts an emphasis on uplifting the culture as a whole. And oh yea, it doesn't hurt to have Anna Wintour's approval either...

Chloe: Fall 2009 RTW

Mickey Boardman: "[...] I felt like it is exactly what Chloe is, which is sort of a French girl who's mother wears YSL, but at the same time she's got a sophistication level, and at the same time she is young and fun [...]."
To elaborate on what Micky Boardman mentioned, this line is great for, but not limited to, the young chic infested gal that is merging her look from young adult to woman! The velvets, the shorts, and the over-sized bags all scream sophistication, comfortable, and chic in this line. Take it easy Chloe, take it easy...

Look: The Definition...

Stylist: Catherine Baba

"You are doing too much." I know you've heard that before, and many people might think the same when looking at this lady's get-up. I think she supports the alternate definition of "doing too much." She's doing too much of the right stuff is how I would put it. Other than her fur, she stays within a comfortable palette range, and her jacket helps everything else speak. And as you might have said to yourself, details made this happen... great high-waist-ed belt with a band-leader rope detail, gold charmed necklace (that reminds me of the Antonio Murphy x Ambush Necklace), and the jumper x bag x shoes are definitely all family members. There is a science to this look and the way everything is kinda bunched with gathering detail created cohesiveness and made her look funky, confident, and experienced.

Sidebar: The lady to our right-behind her needs her own post. Give me that rope!!! Super Zesty!
